What it can recover, and what it can't.
Apple encrypts every file on an iPhone with its own key. When a file is fully deleted, that key is gone too. Any tool that promises otherwise isn't being straight with you.

- Recently deleted messages on iOS 16 and later (about 30-40 days)
- Fragments of older texts, WhatsApp messages and contact details
- Notes, voicemail and reminders still marked as deleted

Can't do
- Bring back files deleted long ago that are in no backup
- Read Instagram, Facebook or Snapchat messages - they're stored on those companies' servers
- Download an iCloud device backup (restore it on the iPhone instead)
- Bypass a passcode, Apple ID or Activation Lock - we don't make tools that unlock other people's phones

Is the free version really free?
Yes. Sign up with your name and email - no card. Free scans and previews everything with no time limit. Saving, exporting, transferring and repairing need Pro.
Which computers does DataLift run on?
Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit), and Macs with Apple silicon (M1 and newer) on macOS 11 Big Sur or later. Windows also needs Apple's Apple Devices driver (free from the Microsoft Store or iTunes) so it can see an iPhone.
Which iPhones does it work with?
Current iPhones and iOS versions. The free scan is the best test: if your data shows up in the preview, Pro can save it.
What counts towards my iPhone limit?
Each different iPhone you use a Pro feature with, such as saving photos or restoring. Using the same iPhone again doesn't count again. Scans and previews never count.
When does a 1 Month or 1 Year licence start?
On the day you activate it in the app, not the day you buy it. When it ends, the app goes back to Free. Nothing renews or charges you again.
Can I use one licence on two computers?
No - each key works on one computer. If you replace your computer, contact us and we'll move it for you.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Your photos, messages and backups stay on your computer, or on the drive or cloud account you choose. The app only contacts our server to confirm your email, check your licence and look for updates.
Is it safe for my iPhone?
Free features only read from the iPhone. Pro features that change it - restore, reinstall iOS, erase - explain what will happen and ask you to type a word to confirm first.
Can DataLift unlock an iPhone or remove an Apple ID?
No, and it never will. Those tools are mostly used on lost or stolen phones. If you've forgotten your own passcode, DataLift can erase and reinstall iOS - you'll then need your Apple ID password to set the phone up.
Can I get a refund?
Because you can try everything in Free first and the licence is delivered straight away, the 14-day cancellation right ends once you activate it. If Pro doesn't work as described, contact us and we'll put it right or refund you, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 allows. Unactivated keys can be refunded within 14 days. See the refund policy.

Open a support ticket and you'll get a ticket number by email, chat with us on WhatsApp, or email support@datalift.co.uk. Real people at our shop reply, usually within one working day.
